First-party delivery

Grocery, retail. Delivery run under the grocer's own storefront, brand and customer relationship, whoever drives the van. The order, the shopper data and the decision about who carries each basket stay with the grocer; the capacity can be its own fleet, a 3PL or a courier network. The alternative is a marketplace order, where the platform owns the customer and takes about 10 cents of every order dollar, against a US grocer's net margin of about 2%.

Where this fits

Vertical-specific patterns shared by the operators Nash serves. BOPIS, click-and-collect, cold chain, ship-from-store, catering windows, multi-marketplace. Each carries operational nuance that Nash absorbs without forcing the operation to bend to the software.
